ADB Awarded Turnkey Infrastructure Construction Contracts ADB’s Business Development efforts in Florida have successfully introduced ADB’s turnkey utility infrastructure installation construction services to the land development and design engineering community throughout Florida. ADB has provided all underground utility and cable TV infrastructure installation for the Alys Beach Development by Ebsco in Panama City, Florida. Similar multi-utility installation services are being provided by ADB in Jacksonville for DR Horton, Pulte, Vescor and KB Home. ADB is simultaneously providing the site work and constructing the utility infrastructure for four (4) major development projects in Jacksonville, Florida, for Florida’s largest developer & builder, DR Horton. ADB’s wide-ranging construction experience makes the company uniquely qualified to offer one-stop contractor services to the development community where ADB can construct electric, water and natural gas distribution along with vacuum & gravity sewer, storm drainage, fiber optic cable and broadband cable TV. The focus on site development infrastructure by the ADB Business Development Team has opened an entirely new construction market that is perfectly suited to the multiple utility construction services offered by ADB. ADB Provides Fiber & Copper Connectivity On Multiple Military Bases ADB has teamed with prime defense contractors to provide OSP expertise for multiple-building fiber optic and copper cable connectivity for several military bases throughout the country in support of the Government's Homeland Secutity efforts. ADB's partners in providing these outside plant construction services are primarily engineering & design firms and inside plant specialists. ADB is currently connecting buildings with fiber optic and copper cable at military bases in Colorado, Indiana, Wyoming, Missouri and New Mexico. Soft Dig Vacuum Excavation Gets Rave Reviews From All Sectors Utility Companies, underground facility owners and landowners have all given very high marks to ADB’s new and efficient soft dig vacuum excavation pole hole digging and underground utility location process. The process consists of combining vacuum suction with water to remove existing soil and rock without the need for backhoes or hand digging with shovels. This technology reduces the size of a normal pit of up to 4 feet to a circular hole of only 6 inches in diameter and completely reduces the incidence of accidental contact with existing underground facilities. ADB uses the process to pre-dig holes for electric and telephone pole installation, and to expose existing underground utilities prior to directional boring or open cut excavation. This process dramatically reduces service interruptions caused by severing existing underground cables or pipes. Although ADB acknowledges an additional capital expense for acquiring the necessary equipment to provide the soft dig vacuum excavation process, the company claims substantial savings in reduced underground facility hits and increased productivity. The company is also proud to announce considerable reduction in homeowner complaints and overall improvement in customer satisfaction. ADB Wins Sewer Contracts In South Florida ADB has been successful in being awarded three different vacuum sewer projects in South Florida over the past few months of 2005. The combined contract value exceeds $13 million dollars. The largest and most recent project awarded is a $8.5 million dollar design-build vacuum sewer project utilizing a hybrid installation method of both horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and open cut to achieve on-grade installation with the least disruption of private property. The multiple projects are being managed by Keith Record who joined ADB in 2005 after a very successful career as Vice President of a large Midwestern telecommunications construction company. Chad Johnson Bolsters ADB's Telecommunications Division ADB President, Rusty Keeley, recently announced the addition of Chad Johnson to ADB's Management Team as Executive Vice President. Chad joined ADB after 20 years with a large Midwestern telecommunications construction company where he spent the last five years as Vice President of the Eastern Region. Chad will serve as Executive Vice President for the Midwestern Area for ADB, and he will be responsible for ADB's business development efforts in the resurging fiber construction industry. Chad has developed a highly respected reputation throughout the telecommunications and utility construction community. ADB Responds To Design-Build Demand ADB has collaborated with several outstanding engineering firms in Missouri and Florida recently to provide turnkey design-build construction services to telecommunication, electric, water & sewer customers in both states. By developing partnership relationships with highly respected engineering firms, ADB believes they have been able to provide often-requested added value benefits to key customers. Kenny Quinn, Vice President and Regional Manager of ADB's Florida Region, stated that collaborations with proven engineering partners has been "a key factor in differentiating ADB Utility Contractors". ADB's Water & Sewer Division Continues Growth Company President, Rusty Keeley, recently announced the continued growth and expansion of ADB's Water & Sewer Division. The company has completed multiple water & sewer projects in the St. Louis and Florida Regions. Underground water main and force main projects have varied in pipe diameter from 2 inches to 30 inches installed via open cut and horizontal directional drilling construction processes. Recently completed sewer projects in Florida have included both gravity sewer and vacuum sewer installations. ADB is currently completing Phase 1 of a multi-million dollar two-phase vacuum sewer project in the coral rock soil conditions of Islamorada, Florida. The company began another major vacuum sewer project in those same coral rock conditions using both HDD and open cut technologies for the City of Key Largo in 2005. Water & sewer project revenues represent approximately 25% of total company revenues from all other electric power, broadband and telecommunications construction projects. Keith Record is the Project Manager for all water & sewer projects throughout the state of Florida reporting directly to Florida Regional Manager, Kenny Quinn, located in the Regional Office in Jacksonville, Florida. Ernie Nanney is the Project Manager for all water projects in Missouri reporting to Vice President, Michael Christian. Resurgence In Fiber Optic Projects Dick James, Vice President of Business Development for ADB Utility Contractors headquartered in St. Louis, has announced a spike in the activity level in fiber optic construction projects. "The boom years of the '90's may never be seen again", said James, but he indicated that several telecommunication companies have started multiple metro build and city ring construction projects to connect the long haul fiber projects constructed in the '90's to the business customers located in major metropolitan areas. James also noted that telecommunications giants such as SBC and Verizon have finally embarked on the much anticipated Fiber To The Home (FTTH) construction which will ultimately provide multiple service access to homeowners. James feels that the new construction should provide benefits to owners, providers, users and the economy. ADB Raises The Bar For Customer Satisfaction ADB President & Chief Executive Officer, Rusty Keeley, congratulated all ADB employees in a company-wide conference call for their outstanding efforts in providing superior customer service. He stated that the increased competition in this rebounding economy places an even greater emphasis on the importance of satisfying and exceeding customer expectations. ADB Crews Receive OQ Qualification For Gas & Electric Service Tracey Rupinski, Corporate Safety Director For ADB Utility Contractors, has announced that ADB electric and gas utility construction crews in Missouri and Florida have been officially OQ trained, tested and qualified to comply with recently mandated federal standards for construction requirements to serve the electric power and gas utility industries. The selected ADB crewmembers went through extensive training in every aspect of the tasks they would be expected to perform when installing gas pipe or electric cable. Those same employees were then required to take and pass a competency test pertaining to those specific tasks before becoming qualified for each task separately. Safety Director Rupinski plans to administer refresher courses and exams for currently qualified crewmembers and provide training and testing for newly hired employees assigned to electric power or gas crews to certify them with their OQ Qualification. |
